Experienced risk practitioner covering all risk areas such as Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Financial Risk, Operational Risk Management (ORM) & Business Continuity Management (BCM).
Given the 16 years of experience as a Risk Manager and 18 years as Bank Supervisor I would be able to articulate practical insights in implementing risk management frameworks.

WORK EXPERIENCE
- Currently working as Chief Executive Officer and Director (since October 2022) at Mani traders Sdn Bhd -Money Exchange and Remittance service
- Upon retirement was appointed by Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD) Central Bank to conduct online Risk Awareness briefings for its staff and Board Risk members on Operational Risk Management, Reputational Risk, Fraud Risk and Governance and Business Continuity Management. (Briefings were conducted in October and November 2020)
- In 2016 was invited by AMBD twice in March and September to provide technical assistance on risk management practices by conducting briefing and workshops to the overall staff, Head of Departments as well as the Board Risk Committee members.
- Developed Enterprise Risk Management Framework encompassing governance, policies as well as risk appetite and tolerance level for the Bank.
- Provide risk analysis and recommendations on areas of significant organizational risk (reputation, strategic, policy and capability) for Board, Board Risk Committee (BRC) and Risk Management Committee (RMC)s.
- Conduct regular risk analysis and research on global risk issues to identify potential emerging risk, including reputational risk, cyber security risk, technology risk and information security best practices, for reporting to the Risk Committees.
- Developed Financial & Operational Risk Management Framework (governance, policies, tools and methodology, templates, risk event taxonomy and key Risk Indicators.
- Spoke-person knowledge sharing on risk management practices with other Central Banks and Government Agencies.
- Review and validate the Bank’s Business Impact Analysis (BIA), Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and formulating Business Continuity strategies to ensure flexibility to pre-emptively arrest possible crisis developments early, and the capabilities to restore normalcy.
- Enhance the Bank’s readiness and resilience in resuming critical business functions and crisis management through improvement of BCM exercise scopes and objectives.
- Provide support to departments regarding risk concepts, framework and measurement.
- Promote risk awareness by conducting regular workshops and presentations.
- Provide technical support in terms of analysis of risk exposures and development of methodologies for measuring and managing risk.
- Mentor, coached and trained Junior staff on business procedures, corporate policy requirements and systems
Bank Supervisor (April 1986 – May 2004)
- On-Site Examination and Off-Site Surveillance of Financial Institutions.
- Examination of financial institutions (commercial & merchant banks, finance companies, DFIs, money brokers and discount houses) to determine the accuracy of figures and records, observance of accounting principles and conventions and adequacy of internal control incorporated in the accounting system.
